Writer's Note: September 13, 2010: I spent the whole afternoon reflecting my life's mission in order to put the things in my life into order (and accomplish an RS reflection paper for school). I know that this is VERY PERSONAL but I'm sharing it anyway for 2 reasons. REASON NUMBER 1: Because if I know something is right and worth doing yet people think it's "crazy," I still do it anyway because when it comes to these things I don't listen to people (who most of the time, by the way, don't know what's best for me or even for themselves!) but only to myself who is very secure and to God who always acts in my best interests. And REASON 2: To tell you that if you and other people think you're "crazy" for doing what you're passionate with and trying to live out your dreams, my friend, you are no longer alone. Because, now, you got me and God to be "crazy" with.
Anyway, for readers who intend to read this VERY LONG but very substantial, FUN, and you-can-learn-a-lot-article-compared-to-your-5-major-subjects-in-college article, I hope that you become inspired to be the best person that God needs, wants and desires you to be.
Be Inspired!
Life’s Mission:
“To inspire souls to progress towards God-greatness.”
Vision:
“A highly inspired individual who helps people become the best persons that God intends them to be.”
I see life as a trust, as a responsibility given by God. Each person has a very unique life mission which only he can fulfill. This mission, as I see it, is something one does not create but discover. In my case, it’s about helping people become the best persons they can be. While majority of people take life easily, I take it very seriously because I know that the success or failure of my life mission will affect the lives of millions of people. Being the image and likeness of God, man is called to become the person that God intends him to be. Knowing this fact, I want to dedicate my life helping people achieve their fullest potential physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Yet, I cannot do this if I’m not inspired to become the great person that God desires me to be. Thus, instead of telling or preaching to the people around me about becoming great or the best person we can be for God, I walk the talk and show them what it really means to live this moral, significant, meaningful and great life that God wants each and one of us to live. The world today needs more demonstration than teaching or preaching. I am one of those men who is man enough to do so. To live such life takes a lot of discipline and paying the price but I still want to live it because life is a gift of God and I don’t want to waste any moment of it feeling bad or miserable about it. And besides, it pays to live the life God wants us to live. Though, it’s a fact that it’s hard but once we understand that life, indeed, is hard, it become bearable to live and everything we encounter becomes meaningful. When I see people, I see not beings who by nature are evil but marvelous creations of God who are perfect as they are now yet not complete. Some are lost. Some are living immoral lives. While, some just want to get home and be loved. As I see it, men are not to be condemned with the seemingly “evil” lives they live but they are simply just not at the right track. Just because people are not at the right track, it doesn’t mean that they are evil for doing so. They just need to get back at the right track so that they can live the wonderful and abundant life God wants them to live. People simply needs to be inspired, to find that mission or meaning in their lives so that they can be the person that God ought them to be. That’s my life’s battle cry: “Inspiring Greatness.” I exist not to condemn men but to inspire them through my words, actions, ideals and, ultimately, the life I’m leading. By doing so, they become inspired to live the life of greatness. Yet like any other mission, my life mission and vision has certain requirements for it to become a reality. My past 20 years of existence has been a great training for me to face life. I intend to be a highly successful businessman because I know that it’s impossible to accomplish my vision of inspiring a lot of people (and I mean a lot) if I’m simply an employee. Being a businessman, I would create jobs, livelihoods and network with financial superpowers and power brokers who share with my sentiments and will help me implement my vision. One of the greatest problems in the Philippines is that Filipinos are having a hard time economically because majority has been trained to be employees. Being conditioned to be employees for the rest of their lives, it’s not such a surprise to see high rates of unemployment, low pay and a lot of Filipinos living the country all for the sake of the “greener pasture” (which is not really that green at all!). What the Philippines needs are strong, bold and courageous businessmen and women who are willing to go against the program of being just an employee, provide jobs for the unemployed and the poor, provide funding for worthwhile causes and teach people how to be in business. Knowing about this need in the Philippines, I want to help people build and be successful in their businesses in order to help more people. I help people not by handing out “fishes” but teaching them how to “fish” so that they can help themselves and others for the rest of their lives. After establishing assets that produce massive wealth and creating networks of power brokers, I intend to partner with World Vision Philippines and create an institution that will take care of poor children until they are ready to support themselves and make a difference on the lives of people. This institution will be a venue for these children to learn valuable life principles and values (a lot of which will come from the Ateneo type of education). Aside from molding them to live these life principles, they will all to be trained to become business men and women who will run their own principled businesses after they live the institution. When they live the institution, they are to be principled businessmen and women who will make a difference in the lives of millions of people in the world. This institution will make children, who should have lived miserable lives but will not because of what the institution will provide them, into inspired and wonderful people who will communicate the great love of God to people around the world. Aside from this institution, I am to create a renowned organization that has the mission of helping people from all walks of life achieve their fullest potential (physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually). It’s going to be great because it’ll no longer only be me who will be inspiring greatness but a lot of people will because they are inspired to be the great people they choose to be. I, then, intend to be a renowned speaker and writer like Stephen Covey, John Maxwell and Francis Kong who people look up to for inspiration and hope. I see myself living a very exciting and meaningful life with my family which will be compose of a very wonderful and supportive wife who means the world to me and my beloved children who are very ambitious and driven to make a difference in the world. It has been said that half of one’s life should be spent on accumulating while the other half on giving. I agree on that because I cannot give to people what I don’t have. I cannot inspire people if I’m not inspired myself. I know that my life is not about me but ultimately about giving myself to God and his people. As young as I am now, I really see to it that I put first things first and take care of all the things, people and activities I have now. I know that what I’ll be doing in the future is big, thus, I pay the price now in order to position myself in doing God’s will for me. I just want to be the best person that I can be and help people do the same. Seeing people grow and be the person they intend to be makes me and, more importantly, God happy. I know that the road ahead of me is going to be a rough. And so was the road Jesus Christ walked which I look up for inspiration when I face hard times. I take the time to prepare myself by studying very hard, paying the price of financial education, learning to relate with people and a lot more because I know God needs me to be in order for me to carry out His great plans. I want to honor God and His people by living a great life. Yes, there’ll be times I’ll fall down but I will persevere and be firm because God is with me and I’m motivated with the fact that the lives of a lot of people depends on my success or failure in life. What motivates me to wake up early in the morning and work until dawn is that great love of God that I come to know which I also want to communicate to the lives of people not simply by words but through the life I’m leading. During these times of confusion and doubt, the world needs people who are courageous who may have fears but chooses to set them aside to stand up and be a bearer of love, hope and inspiration. I choose to be one of those people because, though it’s the road less traveled, a road not for the weak hearted and minded, it gives meaning to my existence and the existence of others. For I believe, the greatest expression of a life of love is the liberation of souls. And as I see it, liberating souls is about inspiring and giving hope and meaning to the lives of the seemingly meaningless lives of a lot of people. At the end of my days, when I’m in my deathbed, I won’t make any regrets on the way I lived my life because I gave myself to people and God wholeheartedly despite of my limitations and having every right to make excuses which a lot of people do. Ultimately, when I’ll be meeting God face to face and ask me what I’ve done with my life, I can look at him eye to eye and smile with confidence, joy and contentment because I know I’ve done my mission of INSPIRING GREATNESS.
