Living Out Your Dreams In Life

When we were kids, a lot of us dream of becoming great singers, rock stars, actors/actresses, astronauts , great doctors, lawyers, speakers, writers, presidents of nations, you name it!

But as we grow older, age and society has a way of making us fit our dreams to the size of our job, wallet, peers and the myriads of other external influences. It’s kind of like the size of your dreams is inversely proportional to the number of years you live. In other words, the older you are, the smaller the size of your dreams. In fact, it’s quite depressing to know that a lot of people depart life with the music still in them and have people blame themselves in their deathbeds for limiting their lives to things that don’t really matter. On the other hand, there are some people who defy societal norms and go for their dreams, hopes and aspirations in life.

Whether you like it or not, God has designed man to dream, to aspire, to desire more in life. It’s in our very nature to reach out and live the best life we can live. And the last thing we want to do in living life is to confirm to people’s expectations and our environment and allow our dreams to die as each day passes by. Yes, the man who dreams and works out his dreams is admired and respected but usually at the beginning he’s detested for aspiring more in life. If you’re working for a better life, expect to be sniped up all the time especially by those people close to you. Most people don’t want people to achieve because, if they do become successful, they feel left out. So people naturally pull down people so they can feel a sense of false security. The reason why we need we need to dream and work our towards our dreams is because of that feeling of satisfaction when we reach the ends of our lives. Trust me, the last thing you want to feel in your deathbed is the feeling of regret. It’s far better to feel the pain of disciplining ourselves in reaching out for our dreams because usually it’s temporary than to feel the pain of regret which is incurable in our deathbeds.

Dreaming and hoping for something in life is not simply a wishy-washy thing you do to make yourself feel better but a commitment to make something in your head a reality. It’s a head thing as well as a thing you work out with your hands. To dream and to work out our dreams is not the end but the means of living the end of a life where we become the best persons we can be. What separates us from the animals is the fact that we have the ability to dream and to work out our dreams. It’s a gift from God and, like any other gift, we have the responsibility of developing it to reach our fullest potential. God dreams of seeing us work and reach our dreams and aspirations in life. Let us awaken to the reality with this fact and live a life will never ever regret.
