We usually think that a little evil of this and that is good from time to time. But when you come to think about it these seemingly small actions have no profound impact on our daily lives , on our future. Even a highly proactive person will find it hard to walk the talk when he/she is subjects himself/herself in doing these "small things" which are not really in accordance to one's conscience. How much more for those who are lousy at being proactive, of those who don't take any initiative? It'll be comparable to a roller coaster kind of life. One moment you're up and the next thing you're on the lumps.
Instead, life would be better and easier when we live out the philosophy of a train. The train's freedom is not outside its rails but it is on it. Our society crying out for freedom that each of us are capable of liberty, of doing the things we want. But are really all the things we want really make us truly free? Is destroying ones health, dignity and humanity truly make us free? Or a degradation of freedom, an illusion of independence?
As I see it, real freedom is an act of our willpower to make the lives of people (including ours) better. Freedom is a common good. Even if people feel that by not doing the things which is inherently evil, it must not be considered as an ignorance of freedom but as wisdom. Freedom is power. Abuse it and it will diminish. Take care of it and it'll take care of you.
Thus, we must be trains. We are not roller coaster who are forever subjected by our emotions or circumstances but we are trains capable of making decisions to be truly free.
Realizing that we are trains, we are to start slowly. Despite our circumstances, we go slowly until our sense of honor is greater that our moods or circumstances. And by doing so we make an unstoppable momentum on the rail tracks that truly makes us free. And I tell you my friend, there's no feeling greater than knowing and being truly free.
