Dream BIG and Pay The BIG Price

To do the things that you want to do, you got to be prepared to pay the price of those things you want to do. If there’s one important lesson I learned as a student majoring in Economics, it’s the fact that the true cost of something is what you give up to get it. Simply saying, everything has a distinct price and it’s not going to be a free lunch. This idea is not limited to decisions we make everyday but also on our dreams and vision of who we want to be.

That’s why I don’t buy into the ‘libre lang mangarap’ philosophy. Personally, it’s a lame excuse for people who are too lazy or afraid to take risks. The idea in itself is an insult to the human being’s capability to dream. Frankly, it takes a certain price, a certain amount of pain of giving up to gain something better.

To dream is not a one time moment decision but a commitment to make a vision a reality. To dream is not for the faint hearted, the weakling and the loser. It takes tremendous courage and audacity to face the seemingly inevitable odds once you start waking up to live out your dreams. This may take in the form of saying no to friends, family and, even, society in order to say yes to something you wanted so bad that your heart can’t just let it go and it makes you cry when the thought of that dream visits you at the middle of the night.

Men like Jesus Christ, Abe Lincoln and, even, Pacquiao don’t reach their stature in life by simply hoping and praying but on dreaming big and paying big prices to make those big dreams bigger than reality.

To dream is not for free. I am a man convicted with my dreams and I’m paying the price everyday of my life to make my dreams come true. But the question is, are you hungry enough to dream big, pay the big price and be a winner or have you given up on your dreams to live an illusionary life of a loser?

My friend, God made each and one of us to dream and to live out our dreams in order to glorify Him. Do not give up on your dreams. Giving up on your dreams is the same with giving up on God.

Dream big and, in dreaming big, pay the big price.
