If there’s one thing man can influence in his life, it’s his attitude towards it. Of course, there are things in life which we are not capable of controlling. We can’t control our genetic make up, how our parents raised us, the actions we made in the past nor the behavior of people around us. But just because we can’t control or change these things, doesn't mean that our attitude in life and how we want to live it should be at the mercy of these uncontrollable factors. More often, what we need is not a change of scene but a change of self.
What sets us apart from the animal world is the fact that we humans are endowed with the capability to choose our attitude, our response to life’s infinite demands and stimulus. It’s up to us to decide whether we become children of circumstances or the very product of our conscious decisions.
There’s no such thing as fate or destiny. Only, the decision to be life’s victim or winner. All of these things are easier written and said than lived and done. The central question you should ask yourself is: Will you allow your past and circumstances to enslave you, to write your bleak fate OR will you decide for yourself how you’re going to face all these odds and, still, come out as a winner?
You are the captain of life.
You are master of your destiny.
You decide.
