How To Lose Your Php10Million In 10 Days

If you’ve been watching the television for awhile, you’ll see commercials by Tide where its users give testimonies on the millions of pesos they won out from using the said detergent. Some of these statements go like:

“Milyonaryo na ako! Lahat ng problema ko mawawala na.”
“Sa perang ito, matatapos na aking pag hihirap!”
“Magagawa ko na lahat ng gusto ko sa buhay.”

When I see and hear these commercials and other quick rich vehicles such as the lottery which a lot of people get suck to, it just ticks me off because I can see how financially ignorant people are. Most people believe that all their financial problems will be solved by simply having more money but only to surprise themselves that they’re deeper in a financial mess even if they had all the money in the world.

Frankly, it doesn’t take money to make you money. It’s not money that makes you rich. Having more money can’t solve all your money problems. We’ve all heard of overnight millionaires who won in Lotto and raffles and are broke by how many weeks or months. Why? It’s because people may have all the money they need but majority of Filipinos don’t have the financial skills to manage their cash flow. What the typical Filipino do is that he earns income and simply spends it. If the income is not enough, he gets into debt. It’s a vicious cycle of earning income, spending, borrowing money, getting deeper into debt and spending. Until when?

If you don’t know what to do with your money, sooner or later your money will be taken away from you. That’s why if you have money never tell people that you don’t know what to do with it because if you do they’ll tell you what to do with it which is to put your money into their pockets! It’s not money that makes you rich.

What then makes you rich? What makes you rich is not money but financial skills. To make money, you need to have financial skills on money management, investment skills and the ability to read numbers (financial statements). More important than the skills, you need to have the mindset of the rich which is the complete opposite of what 90% of the people think. With financial skills and a rich person’s mindset, you can make Php10M with only Php1.00. But if you don’t have both, I guarantee you that even if you have Php10M in your pocket you’ll lose that money within 10 days or LESS!

Knowing that this is the path of becoming rich by now, you might wonder why majority of people don’t take the time to acquire these financial skills and the rich’s mindset. Why? There a lot of reasons why people would rather be poor than rich. One of those many reasons is that acquiring the mindset of the rich and acquiring financial skills takes time, effort and a lot of patience. They want money now! But the thing is, to change one’s mindset and to learn financial skills takes time and conscious effort. Secondly, people are afraid to take risks because they’ve been conditioned by society that making mistakes is bad. Yet, in becoming rich, it takes risk taking and making mistakes to make it big. It’s completely stupid to expect yourself to ride the bike perfectly if you’re doing it for the first time. It takes falling down a couple of times in order to learn just about anything. And thirdly, learning financial skills and acquiring a rich man’s mindset is not popular. Not popular because people perceive it to be boring which I don’t really blame them on because their experience with these things may be boring. Probably, because they’ve been talking to the wrong people who are also boring who know these financial skills by mind but not by heart. Since learning financial skills and acquiring a rich man’s mindset is not popular, people shy away from it because if they do these things they’re concerned with what others will think of them That’s why they’d rather stick to the status quo, don’t have what the rich have which is the freedom of time and money to the things they’re passionate with and have what majority of people have which is a safe secure job, a mountain of debt and the feeling of uncertainty toward one’s financial future.

Thus, in becoming TRULY RICH, it’s not one’s net worth nor the amount of money one has but one’s financial skills and mindset. By having the financial skills and mindset, the money inevitably follows. Knowing this now, stop yourself from thinking that money can solve your financial problems and start educating yourself financially so that you can have what the rich have, stop worrying about “small matters” such as money and debt and really do what you’re really passionate in life.

God is calling us to be all that we can be. Developing our financial skills is one of those calling. To Him, we give all the glory!
